Ingrédients:

  • 1 cup white chocolate melting chips
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • Zest from 1 orange
  • 3 tbsp heavy cream

  • ½ tsp orange extract
  • A few drops of orange food coloring
  • ½ cup confectioners sugar, divided

Instructions:

1. Préparez le Chocolat Blanc

Place the white chocolate melting chips in a medium-sized bowl and set aside.

2. Chauffez la Crème et le Beurre

In a small saucepan, combine the unsalted butter and freshly grated orange zest. Heat over medium for about 1 minute to release the orange flavor. Add the heavy cream, stirring for about 2 more minutes, ensuring it doesn’t come to a boil. Remove from heat.

3. Faites Fondre le Chocolat

Strain the hot butter and cream mixture through a fine sieve over the white chocolate chips. Let it sit for 1 minute to allow the heat to soften the chocolate.

4. Ajoutez l’Arôme et la Couleur

Add the orange extract and a few drops of orange food coloring to the chocolate mixture. Whisk until the mixture is smooth and the chocolate has fully melted. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1-2 hours, until the mixture is firm enough to shape.

5. Préparez le Sucre Glace

Divide the ½ cup of confectioners sugar into two small bowls. This will be used to coat the truffles.

6. Formez les Truffes

Using a spoon, scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of the chilled truffle mixture. Roll them between your palms to form small balls.

7. Enrobez de Sucre Glace

Roll each truffle in the first bowl of confectioners sugar, ensuring an even coating. Once all the truffles are coated, re-roll them in the second bowl of sugar for a final dusting.

8. Refroidissez les Truffes

Place the truffles on a baking sheet and transfer them to the freezer for about 20 minutes to help them set.

9. Servez et Dégustez

Store the truffles in the refrigerator until ready to serve. These orange creamsicle truffles are best enjoyed chilled, with their vibrant flavor and creamy texture making them an irresistible dessert.
