Golden Fried Mushrooms with Creamy Ranch Sauce

Ingredients:

For the Mushrooms:

  • 1 lb button mushrooms, cleaned and sliced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs or panko
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

For the Ranch Dip:

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh chives, chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions/Directions:

Make the Ranch Dip:

  1. In a bowl, mix together mayonnaise, sour cream, dill, chives, garlic, and lemon juice.
  2. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Prepare the Mushrooms:

  1. In a shallow dish, combine the flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Place the beaten eggs in a second dish, and the breadcrumbs or panko in a third.

Fry the Mushrooms:

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Dredge the mushroom slices in the flour mixture, then dip them in the beaten eggs, and finally coat them in the breadcrumbs.
  3. Fry the mushrooms in batches, cooking for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  4. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels.

Serve:
