Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Set oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream Ingredients: In a large bowl, cream together apple butter, sugar, and softened butter until light and fluffy.
  3. Add Eggs: Beat in eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg.
  5. Mix Wet and Dry: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Stir in walnuts, if desired.
  6. Bake Cookies: Drop dough by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
  7. Bake: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Cool: Let cookies cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
