- 1 cup apple butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda

- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Set oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream Ingredients: In a large bowl, cream together apple butter, sugar, and softened butter until light and fluffy.
- Add Eggs: Beat in eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg.
- Mix Wet and Dry: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Stir in walnuts, if desired.
- Bake Cookies: Drop dough by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Cool: Let cookies cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
