Ingredients
1 lb ground chicken
1 bell pepper, diced
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
4 hamburger buns
Optional: sliced green onions or pickles for garnish
Instructions
A Spicy Twist on a Classic
Cook the Chicken: Brown ground chicken in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it up with a spoon.
Sauté the Veggies: Add diced bell pepper and onion to the skillet. Cook until softened.
Add Flavor: Stir in minced garlic, tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using). Season with salt and pepper.
Simmer and Thicken: Reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce thickens.
Toast the Buns: Lightly toast hamburger buns.
Assemble: Spoon the Cajun chicken mixture onto the bottom buns. Top with optional garnishes.
