- 8 cups Crispix cereal
- 2 cups pecan halves (salted or unsalted)
- ½ cup packed brown sugar
- ½ cup corn syrup
- ½ cup butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
Instructions
- Prep: Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the Crispix cereal and pecan halves.
- Make the Syrup: In a medium saucepan, combine the brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally.
- Combine Wet and Dry: Remove the syrup from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract and baking soda. Immediately pour the hot syrup over the cereal mixture and stir to coat evenly.
- Bake: Spread the coated cereal mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 20 minutes.
- Cool and Break: Let the mixture cool completely on the baking sheet. Once cool, break it into clusters.
