- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine cocoa powder, sugar, butter, and eggs. Beat until smooth.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda.
- Mix Wet and Dry: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips, if using.
- Bake: Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto prepared baking sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until set.
- Cool: Let cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
