- 1 lb Italian sausage (casings removed)
- 3 cups fresh spinach
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil, for garnish

- Cook the Sausage: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add Italian sausage and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned.
- Sauté the Garlic: Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for about 1 minute, or until fragrant.
- Cook the Pasta: Add penne pasta, chicken broth, and heavy cream to the skillet. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10-12 minutes, or until pasta is al dente, stirring occasionally.
- Add Spinach and Cheese: Stir in fresh spinach and Parmesan cheese until spinach is wilted and cheese is melted and creamy.
- Season and Serve: Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with fresh basil and serve immediately.
