Ingredients
Scale
- 2 black tea bags (or 2 teaspoons loose-leaf black tea)
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Cinnamon stick (optional, for garnish)
Notes
- Steep the Tea
- In a small saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Once boiling, remove from heat and add the tea bags, allowing them to steep for 3–5 minutes, depending on your preferred strength.
- Warm the Milk
- While the tea is steeping, warm the milk in a separate saucepan over medium-low heat, making sure it doesn’t come to a boil. Add the honey or maple syrup (if using), vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon, whisking until fully combined.
- Combine Tea and Milk
- Remove the tea bags from the steeped tea and slowly pour the brewed tea into the milk mixture, stirring gently to blend.
- Serve
- Pour the tea into a mug, and if desired, garnish with a cinnamon stick for extra flavor and a lovely presentation.
