Ingredients

Scale

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup powdered sugar (plus extra for coating)

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup finely chopped walnuts or pecans

Instructions

Prep and Preheat: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.

Mix in Flavorings and Dry Ingredients: Beat in the vanilla extract. Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chopped nuts.

Shape and Bake: Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.

Bake and Cool: Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the bottoms are lightly golden brown. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Roll in Powdered Sugar: Once cooled, roll the cookies in powdered sugar to coat. For extra sweetness, roll them in powdered sugar again.
