- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, combine the flour, salt, and cayenne pepper.
- Cream Butter and Cheese: In a separate bowl, cream together the softened butter and cheddar cheese until smooth.
- Mix Wet and Dry: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Stir in the chopped pecans.
- Shape and Chill: Roll the dough into a log, wrap in plastic wrap, and chill for at least 30 minutes.
- Bake: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Slice the chilled dough into ¼-inch rounds and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown.
- Cool and Serve: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
